A silicone rubber grommet plug closes a matching panel opening using a molded retaining profile. For a serviceable enclosure, the plug should remain secure in use while still being removable by the intended maintenance method. The depth behind the panel and the exposed edge both affect that balance.
Develop the profile around the opening diameter or outline, panel thickness and available clearance. A wide external face may hide the cut edge neatly, but the groove underneath still needs to engage the panel correctly. ETOL can customize the material, hardness, dimensions and color for that fit.
Check the opening before installation and clear any sharp edge that could cut the retaining lip. Seat the plug around the perimeter rather than pushing only at its center. During service, release it using the intended access point without prying against a delicate panel finish. Inspect the hidden lip after removal; damage there can affect retention even when the outward-facing surface remains presentable.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A wide external face may hide the cut edge neatly, but the groove underneath still needs to engage the panel correctly. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
