A sealed plug and cable grommets can serve different configurations of the same enclosure family. The plug closes an unused opening, while a cable grommet needs a passage matched to the installed wiring. Keeping those functions distinct allows each entry to retain its intended contact geometry instead of relying on a blank modified during assembly.
Check the panel cutout and thickness for both versions. For the wired configuration, include the finished cable covering and the direction of the route beyond the panel. Select the rubber or silicone compound around the actual environment at the entry, with any sealing requirement assessed on the completed arrangement.
Fit each component on a clean edge and inspect the retaining lip around the full perimeter. Keep a closed plug intact in blanked positions. During service, replace the entry component with the appropriate version if the enclosure configuration changes. A cable added through an irregular cut in a plug can leave a poor contact edge and change the original closure in ways the surrounding assembly does not control.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The plug closes an unused opening, while a cable grommet needs a passage matched to the installed wiring. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
