A small silicone rubber grommet provides a fitted rubber interface where a wire crosses an opening. The compact dimensions require the bore and retaining profile to be coordinated with the wire jacket and panel thickness. A small outside footprint should still leave enough rubber to seat as intended around the edge.
Thread the wire using the planned assembly sequence and avoid using it to pull a displaced grommet into position. If the wire has a larger terminal or connector, account for that feature before deciding whether the grommet is fitted first. The final wire route should leave the bore aligned instead of dragging it sharply toward one side.
Check the full retaining lip under suitable lighting, since a folded section can be difficult to see on a compact part. Select the silicone formulation and hardness for the location and handling conditions. Keep sharp wire ends and tools away from the bore edge during assembly. Following repair, reassess the fit if the replacement wire jacket differs in diameter or surface from the one originally used.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The compact dimensions require the bore and retaining profile to be coordinated with the wire jacket and panel thickness. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
