A custom rubber bush for chairs provides a shaped interface within a chair assembly. Its bore, outside profile and length can be developed around the mating components, with hardness, compound and color chosen for the intended design. The bush should be selected for its actual location rather than assumed to be a floor contact tip.
Identify the parts that locate against the bore and outside surface. Their spacing determines where the bush sits and whether its ends remain exposed or enclosed. Fastening can change that spacing, so check the installed condition instead of assessing only the loose parts. The connection should reach its intended position without slicing a rubber edge or pushing the bush out of its seat.
Inspect the assembled chair for displacement at the connection during normal movement. If the bush works loose, check the surrounding hardware and seat dimensions before choosing a harder replacement. Keep cleaning agents compatible with both the rubber and the furniture finish, and use a replacement that preserves the original installed spacing and required contact geometry.
