Product Overview

Conductive silicone keypads place the user-operated button above an electrical contact interface. Reliable operation depends on that interface reaching the intended board area cleanly and returning clear of it after release. The molded part therefore needs controlled location and support, not simply a matching outline in the front panel.

Plan assembly so that the contact face remains protected from loose fibers, dust, and handling residue. A keypad can appear undamaged while contamination underneath changes its response. Holding the part by appropriate edge areas also avoids unnecessary pressure on individual contacts before the sheet is supported by the board and housing.

After assembly, operate each key and check for unintended registration when nearby keys are pressed. If response changes when the enclosure screws are tightened, investigate alignment and clamping before changing the button geometry. The final operating feel results from the flexible section, contact arrangement, and available travel working together. Maintenance access should allow the keypad to be removed without dragging its contact face over sharp board features or stretching the sheet around a fixed locating point.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The final operating feel results from the flexible section, contact arrangement, and available travel working together.
Custom dimensions
Holding the part by appropriate edge areas also avoids unnecessary pressure on individual contacts before the sheet is supported by the board and housing.
Fit & assembly

Use & inspection
Maintenance access should allow the keypad to be removed without dragging its contact face over sharp board features or stretching the sheet around a fixed locating point.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
