A silicone hole plug closes an opening that is no longer needed or has been reserved for another version of an assembly. This custom component is intended around the hole itself, with its retained shape and exposed face determined by the panel geometry. It can form part of a common enclosure design in which some positions remain unused.
Choose the profile by measuring the opening and the material thickness around it. The exterior face must overlap the hole appropriately, while the section behind the panel needs enough space to seat. A nearby bracket or folded panel edge can affect installation even when the opening diameter is correct.
Fit the plug squarely and work the retaining portion into place without cutting or stretching it with a sharp tool. The face should settle consistently against the panel. For assemblies that will later receive a cable or fitting, consider how the plug can be removed without damaging the opening. Keep spare plugs protected from dirt and inspect their retaining edges before reuse.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A nearby bracket or folded panel edge can affect installation even when the opening diameter is correct. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
