A rectangular electrical rubber wire grommet provides a shaped interface for a nonround panel opening. The custom profile follows the length, width, and corner geometry of the cutout while defining the wire passage. The retaining area needs to engage around the full shape, not only along the long sides.
Check the corner radii and finished wall thickness before choosing the dimensions. A rectangle with rounded corners requires a corresponding profile, and a mismatch can leave the rubber folded at the ends. The wire route should not force the insert to twist or lift one side after installation.
Remove burrs and seat the grommet progressively, inspecting each corner for complete engagement. Route and support the wiring before the final check. The component provides a mechanical interface; any required electrical insulation, fire, or ingress performance belongs to the complete assembly. During maintenance, inspect the perimeter after moving the wires and replace damaged rubber before the panel edge becomes exposed to the jacket. Preserve the full rectangular profile when selecting a replacement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom profile follows the length, width, and corner geometry of the cutout while defining the wire passage. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
