A rectangular rubber grommet protects wiring at a matching panel opening. Its shape must follow the cutout, including the corners. ETOL customizes its size, material and color.
Measure the corner radii along with the opening's length and width. Two rectangles with the same overall dimensions may have very different corner shapes. If the grommet meets the corners too soon, the straight sides can bow or lift instead of seating in the retaining groove.
Consider where the wiring leaves the opening. A bundle turning immediately around one corner can put more pressure on that region than on the rest of the grommet. Adjust the route or provide support so that the edge protection remains seated.
For assembly, start with a clean, deburred cutout and guide the flange into place without nicking the inner corners. Examine those corners again after the wires are positioned. An orderly rectangular opening should preserve cable clearance rather than compress the bundle into the available outline.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. An orderly rectangular opening should preserve cable clearance rather than compress the bundle into the available outline. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
