Match the attachment and installation method
Custom rubber hole grommets need two compatible fits: one around the panel edge and another around the component passing through the opening. A molded silicone version can be developed for those dimensions and the intended environment. Choosing only by the outside face can overlook either functional interface.
Measure the cutout and panel thickness to define retention. Then establish the outside size and route of the cable, tube, or other intended component. The surrounding space should allow the grommet to seat without folding against a nearby feature.
Prepare the opening before installation and check that the groove captures the edge continuously. Route the component with controlled movement so that the rubber remains located. Any pull or weight should be managed by the assembly's designed supports. During maintenance, inspect the hidden retaining section where practical as well as the exposed face. Replace with the specified groove and passage profile rather than cutting a larger center opening into a grommet selected for another application.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Then establish the outside size and route of the cable, tube, or other intended component. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
