Product Overview

Rubber plugs for small holes can use a solid body where no cable, tube or other passage is required. Custom molding allows the body and exposed portion to follow the opening and the surrounding assembly space. The solid section should be sized for the intended contact length, while the exterior should remain accessible if the plug will need to be removed.

Consider how a small part is handled during assembly. A recess may guide the plug into position but also hide an incompletely seated edge. Check the finished position from a useful viewing angle, and avoid relying only on the force felt while pressing it in. Clear away burrs before fitting so the hole does not cut the rubber.

Material and color can be selected for the component's working environment and identification needs. Keep different sizes separated, especially where the visible tops look alike. For maintenance, lift the closure using its intended accessible surface. A puncture through the solid body or a gouge at the perimeter defeats the purpose of keeping the opening closed.

Rubber compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. The solid section should be sized for the intended contact length, while the exterior should remain accessible if the plug will need to be removed.
Custom geometry
A recess may guide the plug into position but also hide an incompletely seated edge.
Fit evaluation

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
