A silicone rubber stopper bung can be developed for an assembly that combines an opening closure with a tube. In that arrangement, there are two fits to consider: the bung against the surrounding opening and the tube against its passage through the rubber. Adjusting one interface can affect the other as the bung compresses during installation.
Start with the actual tube outside diameter, opening geometry and intended insertion depth. The passage should follow the required tube direction without forcing a bend immediately beside the rubber. If the tube needs separate support, position that support so its weight does not tilt the bung out of its seat.
Custom dimensions, material and hardness allow these interfaces to be developed together. During assembly, check the tube after seating the bung; compression of the outer body can change the fit around the passage. Do not enlarge the hole with an improvised cut that leaves an uneven sealing surface. For replacement, inspect both the tube contact area and the outer seating surface before reusing either mating component.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Start with the actual tube outside diameter, opening geometry and intended insertion depth. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
