A rubber bumper with metal sheet includes a rigid element within the custom mounting arrangement. The metal area and rubber working face should be developed together so that force enters the component where the design intends. Overall dimensions alone may not show how the backing is supported.
Check the attachment footprint and the part that contacts the bumper. The working face should receive the load without being struck only at an unsupported edge. Nearby hardware must leave room for the rubber's intended deformation while the metal element remains correctly located.
Choose the compound for the temperature and substances at the installation. Fit using the specified attachment method and evaluate the complete movement. During maintenance, inspect the rubber near the backing transition as well as the main contact face. Look for cuts, displacement, or changes in how the part seats. Replace with the matching metal and molded geometry rather than using a similar rubber block that changes the way the mounting surface supports it.
