A custom rubber bumper creates a compliant contact point where a moving or removable part meets a fixed stop. In an industrial device, its shape should suit the actual landing surface and direction of approach. A broad, square contact and a narrow edge strike load the rubber differently, even if the movement distance is the same.
Allow room for the bumper to deform without being cut by neighboring metal. The mounting area should retain the part when the moving component withdraws, particularly if surfaces can become sticky or contaminated. Any impact or repeated-cycle requirement needs assessment within the machine's operating conditions rather than inference from the rubber's appearance.
Place the bumper where wear can be inspected and replacement can be carried out without disturbing unrelated adjustments. A flattened or split contact surface may change the stop position and let the underlying parts meet. During maintenance, check both the rubber and the opposing contact face for burrs, misalignment or concentrated wear that could damage a replacement prematurely.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
