Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Silicone bung stoppers can be customized to close openings with defined seated positions. When ordering custom rubber stoppers from ETOL, define the receiving opening, seating depth and quantity. The body profile should provide the intended contact without allowing the bung to disappear too far into the receiving component. An accessible head or exposed section needs to suit the planned removal method.
Size, color, hardness and material formulation can be developed around the actual opening and contents. Check the receiving depth as well as diameter, particularly where an internal feature could contact the end of the bung. Evaluate any sealing or pressure requirement on the complete closure arrangement.
During fitting, keep the mating area clean and avoid using excessive force to overcome a mismatched profile. Compare insertion depth across representative receiving parts. After removal, inspect the contact surface for cuts, embedded particles or an uneven compression band. Repeated damage at the same location can indicate a sharp edge or unsuitable seating position. Store spare bungs without compressing their bodies so they retain the intended relaxed shape before installation.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Silicone rubber bung stoppers can be customized to close an opening with a defined seated position. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
