Product Overview

A custom EPDM buffer with metal parts combines rigid mounting features with a small flexible body. The metal regions should secure or locate the component while the rubber provides the intended contact or movement. Their relative position is important in a compact part with limited space for deformation.

Check that the surrounding hardware acts on the designated mounting surfaces. A bracket extending too far over the rubber can restrict the working region, while a sharp edge can mark it as the part moves. The installed configuration should preserve the intended gap between the rigid elements and the exposed rubber area.

EPDM selection should follow the actual contact environment, including substances reaching the attachment region. The metal construction also needs assessment for that location rather than an assumed universal grade. During maintenance, inspect the transition between materials and any change in the mounted position. A damaged component should be replaced as the specified complete assembly, with both its rubber shape and metal interface matched to the equipment.

Material options
EPDM compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. A custom EPDM buffer with metal parts combines rigid mounting features with a small flexible body.
Custom geometry
Check that the surrounding hardware acts on the designated mounting surfaces.
Fit evaluation
The installed configuration should preserve the intended gap between the rigid elements and the exposed rubber area.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; part identification clear of mounting seats and loaded faces.

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
