A shock absorber mount provides a resilient element between components that would otherwise meet through a rigid contact. In a custom buffer arrangement, the rubber body must have room to deform in the intended direction. The free shape alone does not show how much space it occupies once the assembly is loaded.
Define the normal installed position and the movement expected around it. A mount already squeezed tightly against surrounding walls may have little freedom to work. Conversely, insufficient support behind the contact face can let the rubber bend or roll instead of compressing as intended.
The mounting seats should present stable contact surfaces, with the force entering near the designed loading axis. Where several buffers act together, their placement should reflect the weight distribution and the path of the moving component. Compound choice and hardness need to be considered alongside geometry rather than used as substitutes for it.
Check the assembled system during startup, normal operation, and stopping, since movement can differ across those conditions. No load or damping value follows from the appearance of the part. During maintenance, look for contact marks on nearby structures as well as changes in the rubber profile; those marks may show that the available travel is being used up.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. insufficient support behind the contact face can let the rubber bend or roll instead of compressing as intended. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a connection type, then compare body dimensions and metric threads. D, H and L are in millimeters; H excludes projecting studs. The M designation identifies the metric thread.
