Small rubber wire grommets provide a custom interface around compact wiring openings. A flat profile can suit an assembly with limited space near the panel, provided the retaining geometry and cable passage are matched to the receiving feature. The part should occupy the intended envelope without pressing against adjacent components.
Measure the clearance on both sides of the wall. A nearby circuit board, bracket, or cover can interfere with a grommet even when its visible face appears suitably low. The wire also needs enough room to leave the passage without an abrupt bend imposed by surrounding parts.
Fit the insert into a deburred opening and check the retaining area all around. Avoid pinching a wire beneath the flat edge while seating the part. Once routing is complete, inspect the entry with nearby components installed. The wire should remain separated from the panel edge without continuously pulling the rubber out of position. During servicing, check for cuts or displacement whenever the compact assembly is opened and its wiring is moved.
