Match the attachment and installation method
Rubber hole plugs provide solid molded closures for openings that do not require a passage. Their custom shape can follow the receiving bore and the available depth, with the compound selected for the intended service. A styrene-butadiene rubber version should be matched to its own operating conditions rather than substituted solely by size.
The hole depth determines how the plug can seat. An internal obstruction can stop the body before its visible edge reaches the intended surface, while an open-ended feature may allow an unsuitable plug to be pushed too far. Establish the seating position and accessible area before assembly.
Fit the part into a clean, smooth opening without cutting or twisting the rubber. Inspect the closure for uneven compression around the visible edge. Keep the solid body intact for its blanking role and use a purpose-shaped passage component if the opening later carries a wire or tube. During maintenance, check the seating surface and the rubber together so damage to the receiving part is corrected before a replacement is installed.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The hole depth determines how the plug can seat. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
