Product Overview

A conductive rubber keypad button cover must remain located over its intended input position while providing the movement needed for operation. The visible cover shape and the conductive underside are part of the same alignment problem. A cover that shifts within its opening can change where the contact meets the circuit.

The receiving housing should retain the nonmoving features without squeezing the active sections. Check the distance to the board or switch and the clearance around the cover's moving wall. An electric-conductive description does not establish the complete sensing method or compatibility with an arbitrary circuit board.

Evaluate the assembled control for a full press-and-release cycle and for independent operation of neighboring buttons. During cleaning, keep residues away from hidden contact areas. If the cover is removed, inspect its locating edges and return it in the intended orientation. A damaged retaining feature should be replaced when it no longer keeps the electrical and visible parts of the button registered with the same input location.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Evaluate the assembled control for a full press-and-release cycle and for independent operation of neighboring buttons.
Custom dimensions

Fit & assembly
Check the distance to the board or switch and the clearance around the cover's moving wall.
Use & inspection
A damaged retaining feature should be replaced when it no longer keeps the electrical and visible parts of the button registered with the same input location.

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
