A silicone rubber O-ring seals through its relationship with the surrounding groove and mating components. The ring needs the appropriate dimensions and compression for that arrangement, while the material formulation must suit the intended medium and operating conditions. Stretching a ring around a feature is not enough to establish a suitable seal.
Inspect the groove and the path the ring takes during assembly. Sharp entries can damage the surface, and a rolling motion may twist the cross-section before the joint is closed. Keep particles away from the contact area and use only assembly methods appropriate to the selected material and application.
Evaluate water exclusion in the complete joint under the specified conditions. The silicone name alone does not establish a waterproof rating or pressure capability. When the connection is opened, examine the ring for cuts, flattening, or a localized wear pattern. If damage repeats at the same position, investigate the groove, entry geometry, and movement of the mating parts rather than assuming a fresh ring will provide a lasting correction.

Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
