A durable rubber grommet should be selected around the contact and movement at its opening. This custom NBR component can cushion a cutout edge, with structure, dimensions, hardness, and color adapted to the assembly. The rubber's material and the cable route work together to determine the practical interface.
Identify where the cable bends or moves near the panel. Repeated contact concentrated at one point can differ from a route that remains centered. Select the NBR formulation for any fluids and temperatures present, then size the passage and retaining groove for the actual cable and panel.
Remove sharp burrs before installation and seat the grommet completely. Keep the cable supported so that unnecessary pull is not transferred to the rubber. During maintenance, inspect the areas of repeated contact rather than only the exposed face. If wear returns at the same location, review the route and support as part of replacement. Use the correct molded profile so that the cable remains cushioned at the intended position without being forced against an uncovered edge.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The rubber's material and the cable route work together to determine the practical interface. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
