Match the attachment and installation method
A nitrile rubber grommet provides a custom protective interface at a panel opening. If the installation also requires resistance to UV exposure, that requirement needs to be addressed in the selected finished compound. Material naming should remain explicit so the environmental requirement is not lost when the geometry is developed.
Define the actual exposure at the entry, including sunlight, contacting substances and temperature. A part located inside an enclosure experiences a different combination from one at an exposed outer panel. Match the groove and passage to the mating components, then evaluate the selected nitrile construction in that location. Custom dimensions and color are available for the required fit. During inspection, check areas hidden beneath the flange as well as the exposed surface. A replacement chosen from appearance alone may reproduce the shape without reproducing the material behavior. If the enclosure design changes and exposes the entry differently, review the compound before carrying the earlier grommet unchanged into the revised assembly.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A part located inside an enclosure experiences a different combination from one at an exposed outer panel. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
