A solid bung silicone rubber plug closes an opening with a continuous molded body. It has no intended flow passage, making its external fit the main consideration when defining the closure. Size, color and hardness can be customized to match the receiving opening and the way the bung will be handled.
Consider the available insertion space beneath the mouth. An internal ledge or nearby component can stop a long bung before its contact surface reaches the correct position. The portion left outside should provide a practical way to remove the plug without digging a tool into the rubber. A custom profile can balance these internal and external requirements.
Keep the solid body intact during service. Cutting a hole through a finished bung changes both its function and the way it deforms, so an application needing a tube or vent should use a component designed with that passage. Remove deposits from the opening before refitting, and check the silicone against the actual contents and cleaning routine. Replace a bung that has developed cuts across its contacting surface.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
