Product Overview

Silicone o rings for food contact equipment should be selected around the specific contact conditions, including the substance, temperature, and cleaning cycle. The chosen formulation and finished ring need assessment for that use. Gasket and washer formats provide different contact sections, so each version should be matched to its own retaining geometry rather than substituted by overall diameter.

Plan how the seal is accessed during cleaning or maintenance. The groove should allow the ring to be removed without a sharp tool damaging its surface, and the fitting route should not require excessive stretch over unrelated hardware. Keep the contact path supported when the joint closes.

Install on clean mating surfaces and check the section remains untwisted before closure. After cleaning, inspect the ring for residue, cuts, and changes in recovered shape. Follow the equipment's intended replacement process if the seal no longer fits correctly. Maintain the selected material and dimensions through service so a visually similar replacement does not introduce a different contact or cleaning response into the assembly.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The groove should allow the ring to be removed without a sharp tool damaging its surface, and the fitting route should not require excessive stretch over unrelated hardware.
Custom dimensions
Gasket and washer formats provide different contact sections, so each version should be matched to its own retaining geometry rather than substituted by overall diameter.
Fit & assembly
Install on clean mating surfaces and check the section remains untwisted before closure.
Use & inspection
Maintain the selected material and dimensions through service so a visually similar replacement does not introduce a different contact or cleaning response into the assembly.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
