Product Overview

A conductive silicone keypad button combines a flexible molded surface with an electrical contact function. For equipment that encounters heat or moisture, the silicone formulation and the surrounding enclosure need to be selected together. The button is one part of that protective system, alongside panel contact and internal support.

Identify the expected exposure at the control face. Occasional splashes, cleaning and warmth from internal components may affect different regions of the part. Select the compound and finish for those actual conditions, then check how the button moves after the complete assembly has experienced them.

The conductive feature must remain aligned with the board contact while the rubber is retained around the panel opening. Excessive compression at the perimeter can change the key's resting position, and a gap near the key can affect the intended moisture boundary. Evaluate both movement and environmental performance with the final housing secured.

Custom dimensions and colors allow the control to fit the equipment layout. Keep the underside clean during assembly, and inspect the key edge for rubbing when operated from different directions. During servicing, restore the original support spacing and seating rather than tightening the housing further to address an intermittent response. That can alter the contact force without correcting its cause.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Excessive compression at the perimeter can change the key's resting position, and a gap near the key can affect the intended moisture boundary.
Custom dimensions

Use & inspection
During servicing, restore the original support spacing and seating rather than tightening the housing further to address an intermittent response.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
