Product Overview

Heat resistant rubber rings require a compound suited to the temperature at the actual joint. The exposure may include repeated heating and cooling as well as time held at temperature. A flexible silicone O-ring does not establish the same working range for every formulation, cross-section or application.

Select the ring around its groove and the intended compression. The mating parts can change dimensions with temperature, so evaluate the complete joint through the relevant conditions rather than only checking a room-temperature fit. Any fluid contact and required sealing performance also belong to that assessment.

Keep the ring free from twist during fitting and avoid catching it on a sharp groove edge. Inspect the seated profile before closing the assembly. During service, look for cuts, permanent flattening and changes in the ring's shape or flexibility. A used ring that still fits into the groove may no longer provide the same contact after thermal cycling, so replacement selection should preserve both the intended dimensions and material formulation.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. A flexible silicone O-ring does not establish the same working range for every formulation, cross-section or application.
Custom dimensions

Use & inspection
During service, look for cuts, permanent flattening and changes in the ring's shape or flexibility.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
