Product Overview

Rubber thick washers provide a shaped rubber layer around a central opening. Their thickness can be useful where the assembly needs a defined space for compression between mating components. Custom dimensions allow the outside profile and the central hole to suit the fastening or sealing arrangement.

A thick washer changes the assembled stack height as it is compressed. Select it with the available fastening length and the support beneath the washer in mind. The hole should clear the intended shaft or fastener without leaving an unnecessarily narrow ring of rubber around it. The surrounding faces also need enough area to support the washer rather than squeezing it over a sharp edge.

Install the washer flat and check that it has not folded or shifted as the joint is tightened. Avoid using extra tightening to compensate for an incorrect thickness. If the washer serves a sealing role, evaluate the actual joint and medium together. Its shape and compression must work with the adjoining parts to create the intended contact around the opening.

Material options
Rubber. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. A thick washer changes the assembled stack height as it is compressed.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
