A high temperature rubber grommet protects a cable at an opening where heat exposure is part of the design requirement. The temperature at the rubber may differ from the general enclosure temperature, particularly if a warm component is close to one side of the passage.
Identify the local heat source and whether contact is continuous or occasional. Consider how the cable route or a nearby metal part can bring heat to the grommet. Choose the formulation for the local temperature, exposure duration and panel geometry, including the conditions where the cable contacts the inner passage.
ETOL can tailor the size, material and hardness. Trial the entry with the surrounding components in their normal positions and check that thermal exposure does not disturb the required seating or cable clearance. During servicing, inspect for hardening, cracks or deformation at the hottest side. Replace a damaged part with the specified compound and review unexpected local heating rather than simply fitting another ring of the same appearance.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The temperature at the rubber may differ from the general enclosure temperature, particularly if a warm component is close to one side of the passage. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
