A rubber NBR washer can be custom molded for a mounting interface where its geometry and material need to suit the surrounding hardware. Define the inner opening, supported outer area and working thickness around the assembled joint. The part should reach its intended position without being dragged sideways as the hardware is tightened.
Observe whether adjoining parts move against the rubber during use. Local rubbing can produce wear at a specific edge even when most of the washer remains intact. Check the alignment and support at that region rather than treating a thicker replacement as an automatic solution.
Select the finished NBR formulation for the actual fluids, temperature and mechanical conditions. For mount applications, evaluate the assembly under its intended load and movement. During maintenance, inspect the hidden faces for cuts, compression changes or a polished band indicating repeated contact. Clean the mating parts before fitting a replacement, and preserve the specified joint geometry so the new washer is not forced into the same damaging position.
