A Medical Silicone Plug is a custom component whose material and geometry must be selected for its defined role in the finished assembly. Structure, dimensions, hardness, and color can be adapted to the opening. Butyl and silicone are different material options, so selection should begin with the actual contact conditions and intended use.
Identify what touches the plug, how long that contact lasts, and which cleaning or processing steps the component will encounter. The finished device or container determines the applicable material and cleanliness requirements. A general material label does not establish suitability for every medical or food-related application.
Define the opening, insertion depth, retaining geometry, and accessible removal area together. The closure should seat without placing unintended force on neighboring components. If color is used to distinguish variants, keep that identification aligned with the specified material and dimensions.
Handle the component under the conditions established for the intended assembly. Before fitting, inspect the contact region for particles or damage and confirm its orientation. Reuse or replacement should follow the finished product's intended process. Do not substitute an approximately sized stopper for a component with a defined contact role simply because the exposed shape appears similar.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The closure should seat without placing unintended force on neighboring components. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
