Rubber mounting feet add a compliant contact surface to furniture hardware while providing a defined mounting interface. In a metal furniture assembly, both connections matter: the foot must stay attached to its support, and its floor contact area must sit properly when the furniture carries its intended load. A secure attachment alone does not ensure a level stance.
Match the fixing geometry to the actual metal component. Include the available mounting depth and the clearance around welds, bends, or other hardware. The installed height should be consistent across all supports, particularly on furniture with a rigid frame that cannot accommodate a large height difference.
Evaluate the contact on the intended floor finish, including how the furniture is moved during normal use. Rubber compound, surface texture, and trapped dirt can affect that interaction. Lift furniture when repositioning it where practical, and inspect the mounting joint after repeated movement. A foot that tilts or loosens should be corrected before the adjoining hardware begins contacting the floor.
