An industrial natural rubber damper can provide a compliant element at a defined mounting or contact point. Selecting a size starts with the installed spacing and required movement, rather than simply choosing the largest body that fits. The rubber needs clearance to deform in the way intended by the machine design.
Check the contact face and attachment relationship together. A taller part can alter the rest position or make contact earlier in the cycle, while a wider part may interfere with nearby hardware. Natural rubber formulation selection must also address the actual environment and substances reaching the part.
Evaluate the completed arrangement for its duty without inferring a particular damping value from the material or outside dimensions. During maintenance, inspect for an uneven wear patch and changes in the resting shape. When replacing a damaged component, preserve the intended spacing rather than selecting an approximate size that changes when the machine meets the rubber or how far adjoining parts can move.
