A molded NBR bumper provides a rubber contact point where an industrial device would otherwise meet a rigid surface. Depending on the custom shape, the part can serve as a foot beneath a housing or a bumper beside a moving or removable section. These positions need different contact faces, so the direction of contact should guide the geometry from the start.
For a foot, consider the device in its working position with cables connected and any removable contents installed. The support points should sit evenly without placing the housing against the bench. For a side bumper, the approaching part needs to land on the intended rubber area rather than catch an edge and peel it away. NBR is the named material for this version; alternative compounds are separate choices requiring their own application assessment.
Keep the mounting area free of sharp burrs and trapped debris. A flattened, split, or displaced bumper changes the contact gap, so maintenance should include checking both its condition and the clearance it was installed to preserve.
