Molded rubber bellows use a formed sequence of folds to accommodate movement around a covered joint or passage. Their flexibility depends on the wall profile, fold spacing and selected material, as well as the overall dimensions. A soft feel when handled is not enough to determine the available stroke in an installed mechanism.
Consider how the end connections move relative to one another. Extension, sideways offset and angular motion affect the folds differently. Combining these movements can bring one side into contact with itself while stretching the opposite side. Leave clearance around the working envelope so the bellows does not scrape a guard or mounting bracket.
Fit the ends in their intended orientation without introducing a twist into the body. Exercise the mechanism slowly through its required positions before normal operation, watching for pinched folds or tight attachment edges. This component's suitability for carrying fluid or pressure must be established separately from its ability to flex. Inspect the fold roots during servicing, where damage can be less visible than on the outer crests.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
