Grommets for wire connector arrangements need to account for the connector as well as the wire passing through the protected opening. A passage sized closely around a cable may not allow its fitted connector to pass. The intended assembly order should therefore be settled before finalizing the molded profile.
Check whether the grommet is installed before termination or whether the chosen construction accommodates an assembled connection. The panel-retaining section must still match the opening and wall thickness. Forcing a bulky connector through an undersized passage can damage the rubber and the cable jacket out of sight.
Once fitted, support the cable route so the connector's weight or movement does not continually pull on the grommet. The component provides an interface at the opening; it does not establish electrical insulation or ingress protection for the complete connection. During servicing, inspect for a folded lip and changes in cable direction, and restore the intended routing after a connector is removed or replaced.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The panel-retaining section must still match the opening and wall thickness. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
