Special profiles in neoprene rubber grommet bushes can accommodate a connector arrangement that does not suit a simple circular opening. The shape should be developed with a clear installation orientation so the cable passage, locating surfaces and surrounding connector features line up correctly.
Consider whether the part can be fitted in more than one direction. If an apparently similar orientation changes the cable route or obstructs a latch, the geometry or identification should help assembly operators distinguish the intended position. Custom shape and marking options can support that distinction without placing raised features on an important contact surface.
Evaluate the bushing with the mating connector fully engaged. Check that the molded rubber does not push against a corner of the housing or prevent the lock from reaching its final position. Material selection should account for the connector location and any exposure to cleaning agents or heat. During service, release the connector using its intended features rather than pulling against the rubber. Inspect narrow transitions in the special profile for tearing after repeated installation and removal.
