Oblong rubber panel grommets provide a shaped interface around a long panel opening. The useful wire route should be considered along that opening, since a bundle concentrated at one end can pull the rubber differently from wiring distributed near the center. The outer profile and inner passage need to suit the planned arrangement together.
Measure the cutout length, width, end radii, and supporting thickness. Check the finished edge condition along the straight sides as well as the curved ends. Leave room behind the panel for wires to exit without pressing the retaining lip against nearby structure.
Orient and seat the grommet before finalizing cable supports. Inspect both long edges for a folded or stretched region after the wires are arranged. Keep normal cable pull away from the entry through appropriate routing and support. During maintenance, check for wear concentrated at one end of the passage. If the wire arrangement changes, reassess that local contact instead of assuming the same oblong opening will accommodate every revised bundle equally well.
