An Oval cable grommet lines an elongated opening through which a harness crosses a panel or partition. The long axis can provide useful space for a bundle arranged across the opening, while the short axis still limits the depth of that bundle. Custom geometry, material and color allow the liner to suit the actual cutout and route.
Measure the harness in its final wrapped form and align it with the intended passage. Keep a branch or connector from sitting against a rounded end of the oval, where it can pull the flange away from the panel. The firewall application should be evaluated with the partition and surrounding assembly; the location name alone does not define a fire rating. During fitting, check both ends of the retaining groove before securing the cable. After the final route is established, inspect the lip again for uneven loading. If later service changes the harness arrangement, reassess the available short-axis clearance rather than assuming the elongated opening can accommodate any additional wire.

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
