Pull through rubber grommets are designed to sit in a panel opening and protect the cable, hose or wire passing through it. Their collars retain the rubber on the two sides of the panel, creating a cushioned boundary around the passage. Custom round, oval, oblong, rectangular and special profiles are available.
The installation sequence deserves attention when a cable already has a large connector. Determine whether the connector can pass through the finished bore or whether the grommet must be positioned before termination. Stretching the entry aggressively around a connector can damage the lip even when the cable itself would fit comfortably.
Choose the groove to suit the opening and its wall thickness, then consider the access needed to settle the far collar into place. Work around the perimeter with controlled pressure instead of pulling the entire part from one small area. Any installation aid must be compatible with the rubber and the cable covering.
ETOL lists several compound choices, including EPDM, silicone and nitrile. Once fitted, check that the selected part stays seated as the routed cable moves through the limited handling expected in the assembly. Separate cable support is needed wherever pulling forces must be controlled.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Determine whether the connector can pass through the finished bore or whether the grommet must be positioned before termination. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
