Push-in rubber grommets install by allowing the flexible retaining portion to pass through an opening and settle around the panel edge. The rubber then provides a protective boundary for routed wires, cables or hoses. Round, oval and rectangular versions are listed, with special outlines available for other assemblies.
The final position is more important than the apparent ease of insertion. One section of the lip can remain folded behind the panel even when the front flange looks level. Check the full circumference and, where accessible, the back face before passing the cable through.
Choose the groove for the panel thickness and select the compound for the surrounding environment. The listed alternatives include EPDM, silicone, FKM, nitrile, HNBR, neoprene and SBR. Softness alone does not determine whether the part will remain retained.
If insertion requires excessive force, review the hole dimensions and surface condition rather than pushing harder with a sharp object. A nick from installation can become a tear when the cable moves. Recheck seating after the cable is routed, because dragging a large connector through the center can displace an otherwise correctly fitted grommet.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. One section of the lip can remain folded behind the panel even when the front flange looks level. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
