Custom push in rubber grommets are inserted into an opening to cushion a cable against the cut edge. The push-fit arrangement is practical where the perimeter can be worked into position from the accessible side, provided the groove suits the panel thickness.
CR, EPDM and SBR are among the materials named for this product, with custom geometry, hardness, size and color available. Select the profile around the finished hole rather than relying on insertion force to hold an unsuitable shape. If the part must be pushed extremely hard, check the groove and opening before continuing.
Begin with one part of the rim engaged, then work around without trapping the far lip inside the cutout. Use controlled pressure on the mounting area instead of pushing through the cable bore. After insertion, inspect the backside where accessible and check that the cable passes through the protected opening naturally. Do not pull on the lead to finish seating a stubborn flange; that can distort the rubber and transfer force to the wiring.
