A rubber anti vibration grommet provides a compliant region within a mounting assembly. The selected profile should place rubber between the intended mating surfaces while locating the component securely. Custom dimensions, compound, color and hardness allow it to be developed for the equipment's load and movement.
Identify the surfaces that contact the rubber before and after loading. A rigid sleeve, fastener or bracket can create another path through the mount if its clearances are not coordinated. The rubber should have room for its designed deformation rather than be squeezed until neighboring rigid surfaces meet.
Evaluate the completed assembly under the movement expected in operation. Occasional impact and ongoing vibration are different conditions, and the same grommet geometry should not be assumed to perform identically in both. Include the fastening arrangement and supported mass when judging the response.
Inspect the fitted part for uneven compression and signs of rubbing at the bore. During replacement, examine the mating hardware for the cause of any localized damage. Preserve the contact length and mounting position as well as the compound. If the equipment layout or weight changes, reassess the resilient interface instead of choosing a replacement only because it fits the original hole.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A rigid sleeve, fastener or bracket can create another path through the mount if its clearances are not coordinated. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
