Thermoplastic rubber grommets should be selected around the opening and the movement they are intended to accommodate. In a vibration related application, the rubber profile must remain in the load path rather than be bypassed by rigid hardware. Define the supported component, retaining surfaces, and available clearance before selecting the section.
Check the inner and outer fit in the assembled condition. A tight outer seat can alter the bore or passage, changing contact with the component inside it. The compound should suit the actual temperature and substances around the installation.
Fit without forcing misaligned parts together through the rubber. Inspect for rigid contact across the flexible region and assess the completed equipment through its relevant operating conditions. During maintenance, examine the bore and flange for different wear patterns. Repeated damage at one edge may indicate alignment or loading that differs from the intended design, so correct that condition rather than replacing the grommet alone and expecting a different result from the same arrangement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A tight outer seat can alter the bore or passage, changing contact with the component inside it. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
