Product Overview

A rubber flange bushing combines a sleeve region with a flange that can locate against an adjoining face. The sleeve and flange experience different contact conditions, so both should be matched to the complete joint. The bore, outside fit, flange thickness, and surrounding clearance determine how the rubber is supported once the assembly is fastened.

Define the direction of the working load and the movement the joint needs to accommodate. A bushing forced sideways during installation begins with a different condition from one seated in aligned hardware. The selected compound should suit the local temperature and substances as well as the intended deformation.

Install without trapping the flange under an uneven edge. Check that washers, spacers, or neighboring metal do not create a rigid contact path around the flexible region. Assess vibration behavior on the completed equipment under its actual operating conditions rather than from the material alone.

During maintenance, inspect the sleeve contact and flange face separately. Wear concentrated in the bore may indicate alignment or movement issues, while a torn flange may point to axial loading or a poor seat. Correct the relevant hardware condition before replacing the bushing so the new part returns to the intended support arrangement instead of taking the same unintended load.
