A rubber cable grommet oval profile lines an elongated panel opening with a flexible boundary. Its purpose is to keep cable jackets away from the cut edge as they pass through. An oval aperture can accommodate a cable arrangement spread across the width of an opening, provided the selected internal clearance suits the actual bundle.
Consider the layout of the cables before choosing the grommet outline. If several leads converge immediately beyond the panel, they can pull against one end of the opening even when the total available area seems generous. Allow the routing to settle naturally and provide separate cable support where it is needed.
ETOL customizes size, material and color for this design. Available compound families include silicone, EPDM, FKM, nitrile, HNBR, neoprene and SBR. Match the compound to the environment instead of assuming that identical shapes have identical service limits.
During installation, check the two curved ends and both long sides for complete seating. Do not draw the bundle across a partially seated lip. The grommet protects the panel transition; it should not be treated as the component that carries the weight of the wiring.
