Match the attachment and installation method
A split rubber cable grommet allows the liner to be placed around a cable without threading the entire cable length through an intact ring. The split and the retained panel profile must both sit correctly once installed. A convenient assembly opening should not remain distorted after the rubber is located.
Plan the position of the split relative to the cable route and surrounding hardware. The mating edges should return to their intended relationship rather than overlap or leave a forced gap. Match the groove to the wall and the central space to the actual cable. Custom material and dimensions can be selected for the installation.
Seat the liner around the opening while checking the split region from each accessible side. Then secure the cable and confirm that its bend does not pull the joint apart. If the application needs environmental sealing, evaluate the completed split entry rather than assuming it behaves like a continuous molded ring.
During later removal, open the part only as much as needed to release the cable. Inspect the split edges for tears and the groove for damage before reuse. A displaced joint should be refitted or replaced; tape wrapped around the cable is not a substitute for the intended grommet geometry.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A Rubber cable grommet split construction allows the liner to be placed around a cable without threading the entire cable length through an intact ring. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
