A rubber cone stopper offers a tapered fitting section that can be custom sized for an opening. For an exposed location, select the compound for the actual weather, temperature, and substances it encounters. The taper geometry should still define a suitable seated position rather than relying on deeper insertion to make an approximate size hold.
Measure the small end, large end, and length relative to the intended bore. The opening should engage the part of the taper established by the design while leaving enough exposed material for handling. Nearby features may limit the available insertion or removal space.
Fit the stopper squarely on a clean opening and avoid driving it farther than intended. Inspect the exposed edge after installation, particularly if the assembly has been handled or moved. During maintenance, check for cuts and permanent deformation along the engaged region. Use a replacement with the required taper and formulation so that the closure returns to its original position under the same environmental conditions.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The opening should engage the part of the taper established by the design while leaving enough exposed material for handling. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
