A cone rubber stopper uses a solid tapered body to meet the edge of an opening. The small end guides entry, while a wider portion establishes the fit as the stopper moves inward. Custom dimensions and hardness let the taper be developed for a particular opening instead of relying on a single diameter measurement.
The small diameter, large diameter and overall length work together. Two cones with identical large ends can seat at different depths if their lengths or tapers differ. Check the intended contact position against the thickness of the opening and the space behind it. Enough material should remain accessible for withdrawal, with the wider end clear of features that could give a false impression of full seating.
Use controlled insertion rather than driving the cone further with a hard tool. Excessive wedging can make later removal difficult and may overstress the receiving part. Keep the contact band clean, and inspect it after removal for scoring. Select the rubber compound for the medium present around the opening; the cone shape itself does not determine chemical suitability.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Custom dimensions and hardness let the taper be developed for a particular opening instead of relying on a single diameter measurement. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
