Rubber gasket materials such as EPDM and FPM need to be selected for the medium, temperature and contact conditions of the joint. When considering EPDM gasket material, assess the actual exposure rather than choosing it solely because an existing rubber ring has the same outline. The required ring profile, contact width, and thickness or section dimensions depend on how the joint supports and compresses the rubber.
Establish the space available for the seal before selecting hardness. A seal that is too thick for its joint can distort when the parts close, while an undersized section may not make the intended contact. The retaining groove or mating faces should locate the ring without requiring it to be stretched into an unsuitable outline.
Clean the joint surfaces and inspect them for damage before assembly. Position the ring evenly, then close the joint in a way that maintains alignment around its circumference. The selected material must also suit substances encountered during servicing, not only the normal process medium. After disassembly, inspect the rubber's contact pattern and condition before any intended reuse. A replacement should preserve both the exact profile and the material selected for that joint.

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
