Rubber ladder feet caps should be inspected on the soles, not only around their visible sidewalls. The ground-contact area can become uneven or hold embedded debris while the cap still appears securely attached to the rail. Custom replacement geometry must preserve the sole arrangement intended for the ladder.
Compare wear between the support points during the ladder's prescribed inspection. Wear concentrated along an edge can indicate a different contact angle from broad wear across the sole. A cut caused by a trapped hard particle is another condition again. Identifying the pattern helps determine whether the rail seat, ground contact, or cap itself needs attention.
Keep the ladder out of service when a support is loose or damaged, and use its designated replacement configuration. The selected compound must be evaluated for the intended surfaces; an abrasion-resistant description does not guarantee grip everywhere. Remove debris without cutting away supporting rubber. If the same wear pattern returns quickly, examine the ladder's seating and contact geometry before choosing a thicker cap that changes its original stance.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
43 closed-end cap sizes. A is the inside diameter and C is the usable internal depth; B and D describe the outside envelope.
